“Sheffield offers more opportunities for healthy travel – cycling or walking to work – shorter commutes and cheaper housing close to a national park.” These are the words of our own Tim Bottrill in a recent Sheffield Star article in which he sets out why our city could well be set to benefit from an exodus of London workers seeking a healthier place to live and work post-pandemic.
Along with the obvious economic benefit for businesses (London office rentals can reach £100 per sq ft), there is the opportunity for employees to walk or cycle to work, with the added bonus of having the beautiful Peak District on the doorstep. Excellent for health, wellbeing and mental health – all important factors for today’s workforce.
With home working having proved largely successful, businesses may take reduced office space. However, Tim is of the view that hot-desking won’t disappear entirely; rather that deep cleaning will be a priority as employees use desks on different days. To read the full article, see:Back
