Sheffield Old Town Hall

We are pleased to announce that we have successfully acquired Sheffield’s iconic Old Town Hall for our client Aestrom OTH and are being retained to deal with the letting of the commercial “souk” space which will be created as part of the permitted redevelopment of the building.

Our client has successfully obtained planning permission to sensitively redevelop this local “political hot potato” for mixed use purposes.  The upper floors will be made into residential accommodation.  The former police cells on the ground floor will become a “pod” hotel.  The remaining ground floor area will house a “souk” marketplace – the idea being that it will be made available to individuals and/or small businesses – offering a mix of cafes, bars, shops and workspaces.

The building’s restoration is part of the regeneration of the city’s Castlegate district, and will add to the vibrancy of this up and coming area.  Indeed, Kommune food hall opened last year at Castle House on Angel Street, which used to house the Co-op department store.  Proof that the area is on the up!
