“Office rents are rising at a faster pace in smaller cities, according to CoStar’s latest data….Rents have risen faster in Sheffield than elsewhere in the “Big 10″ [cities] over the past year…”. The article continues by stating that “the prime (4 & 5 Star) segment of the market had been driving the expansion, but growth began to filter through to secondary (3 Star) properties in the second half of last year, and has continued to accelerate into early 2019”. Top-end rents in Sheffield are now in the region of £25 per sq ft and are set to continue to rise over the next 12 months.
What great news for our city, which reinforces the need for development of Grade A office space (ongoing currently in the form of schemes such as Heart of the City II, Alsop Fields, New Era, Little Kelham, etc). There is a market for quality buildings in prime locations – fantastic for growth prospects and viability for businesses wanting to have a Sheffield presence. We are proud to be involved in these – and other – terrific schemes. For the complete article, see:Back
